ISAA – Indian Scale for Assessment of Autism

This is a standardized tool used to provide an impression of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and assess its severity in children (3 – 20 years). It covers six key domains of development: Social relationship and reciprocity, Emotional responsiveness, Speech, language, and communication, Behavior patterns, Sensory aspects and Cognitive component. This information is collected through an interview with the primary caregiver and observation/interaction with the child.

 

CARS – The Childhood Autism Rating Scale

This is a behavioral assessment tool used to diagnose autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children. It observes a child’s behaviors and assigns ratings in 15 areas like social interaction, communication, and sensory sensitivities and these help assess the presence and severity of ASD symptoms. This information is collected through an interview with the primary caregiver of the and through observation/interaction with the child.
